Enable Algo Trading safely

Check the platform permission needed for an Expert Advisor to place trades.

Platform settings

Follow these steps

  1. In MT5, locate the Algo Trading control in the toolbar and enable it if you intend to let the EA trade.
  2. Open Tools → Options → Expert Advisors and review the permissions required by the product instructions.
  3. Only enable permissions that are needed and that you understand. Never enable DLL or other advanced permissions simply because a generic guide says to.
  4. Check the EA's chart icon and the Experts and Journal tabs for permission or connection messages.
